When you're ready for a new car, think about how big a car, pickup, or SUV you really need, then compare models in the same group, and pick the one that gets the most miles per gallon. Or, better yet, consider buying a gas-electric hybrid car that recharges as you drive, gets as much as 60 miles per gallon or more, and can be refueled at any gas station.
